The ALL Meet-You-There lunch at CyFair Culinary School was a great success with over 60 people attending. Seniors know how to "lunch". Students interested in pursuing a career in the culinary arts take part of their training in this specialized program. There they learn not only food preparation but also planning, service. Even though it was not yet four star service, the food was good and enjoyed by everyone. 
8th Annual Prom Closet sponsored by the LSC-CyFair Library will soon be underway - March 24 & 31 and April 14 & 21. This is a wonderful program that collects and distributes prom dresses for teens who are unable to afford to buy a dress or for those on a tight budget. And a prom dress without jewelry just isn't finished. With that in mind the ALL group on campus pitched in, collected, refurbished, and made jewelry that will also be given away during the Prom Closet event. Both the dress and the jewelry are free for the girls to keep. The Prom Closed is an annual event so plan on pitching in next year. Donations are always welcomed.
Have you ever been hypnotized? Dan Perez presented a very interesting class telling us how hypnosis can help with some personal behaviors that we want to change....such as quit smoking, losing weight, confidence building, sleep enhancement, etc. Contrary to what the TV shows portray, hypnosis will not make you do things beyond your normal will. Dan explained the different states of mind: Conscious Mind, Critical Faculty, Subconscious Mind and Unconscious. Hypnosis works to make the subconscious mind receptive to new ideas that can replace the old "bad" habits we may have developed.
It's not too late to join the class that is reviewing the book on cd "The Lazy Gardener's Guide" by Brenda Beust Smith. This book takes you through each month of the year and tells you what and how to handle garden issues.
