Monte Parks, Educational Programmer for Jesse H. Jones Park, presented a great class on the period between 1685-1860 and the groups of people that shaped Texas. Included in this presentation, are the pirates, rebels, and Anglos, who were the filibusters looking for ways to dominate the land, the politics, or for other reasons. This history is a very interesting take on some of the early settlers in the area.
