Ooh cher (sha), we passed a good time at Cooking Class today. Lou Master and Cheryl LeJune made jambalaya, crawfish pie, creole gumbo and shrimp fettuccine. Add to that, some French bread and King cake and we had a feast today. Many had second helpings. Nice start to Mardi Gras.

How Did We Get Here? Part 2

In Prof. Esther Robinson's "History Behind the Development of the Political Parties in the United States - Part 2", Esther picked up the story of the parties after the Civil War. She combined the historical events of the United States with how the political parties changed throughout the last 150 years. We viewed each election from 1880 and watched the demographics change every 4 years. Very interesting.

King Ranch Chicken Soup

Lou Master, our ALL gourmet chef, showed us how to prepare a variation on one of Texas's, and our, favorite meals, King Ranch Casserole. Instead of the casserole, we prepared an aromatic, flavorful soup with the same ingredients.
