Renewing Your Mind

In this two-part class, Kathryn Bonner, ALL member and life coach, led us through a fun process with art and thoughts to renew our minds. We created our own affirmation cards which turns our  negative thoughts into positive ones. The cards and envelope were beautiful and one-of-a-kind.

Barging in Burgundy

Instead of ocean or river cruising, Cheryl LeJune brought us along on a canal barge cruise in France. Canal barging is a much slower pace and a much smaller scale than the other options.  Being able to see the countryside and its people up close and personal is a great way to travel.  She shared the history of the Burgundy Canal, the wine of the Burgundy area, and how to go about planning a barge trip.  The pictures were fun, too.

All About Urban Wildlife Rehab

Scarlett Brann, Education Coordinator from Texas Wildlife Rehab Coalition, gave us a great insight to how injured animals are cared for in an urban environment; from someone finding an animal in their yard, to taking it to TWRC's center, to its rehab and final release back into the wild. She brought along Casper, an albino oppossum, and a screech owl for us to see. TWRC is always looking for volunteers as they receive thousands of animals a year to rehab. Check them out here.
