What a fantastic class !! Bill Willits gave a great presentation about Houston's Historic Railroads. The theme for Houston in the 1920's was "Where 17 railroads meet the sea." From that humble beginning Houston has grown to be the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest city in the United States.....and the railroads helped make that transition.Following the Railroad Class the group was invited to have lunch as a group and then carpool across town to the Houston Railroad Museum. As a director of the Gulf Coast Chapter of National Railway Historical Society, Bill gave the group the grand tour of the museum.
