Terra Cotta Soldiers

Professor Robert O'Brien gave us a wonderful visual and verbal tour of China's Terra Cotta Soldiers. In 1974 some local Chinese farmers were digging in a field and discovered one of the world's most impressive archaeological finds. Three excavated pits revealed an estimated 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses. These terracotta sculptures depicted the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.
